Kimberly-Clark Corporation
Partner since 2001
Kimberly-Clark is an important partner in UNICEF's emergency relief efforts, as well as programs for children orphaned and made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS—having contributed some $5.2 million in support of these programs. In addition, Kimberly-Clark's funds have leveraged $9 million from the public through challenge-match mailings.
Company employees also regularly contribute to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. Most notably, workers gave more than $1 million toward emergency response efforts during the 2004 tsunami relief effort.
HIV/AIDS
Kimberly-Clark's primary support has been to HIV/AIDS programs. The company set a benchmark in the business community when it pledged its first $2.6 million donation over four years. The gift was the largest commitment ever made by a single corporate U.S. Fund donor to help children affected by the disease, and it helped launch successful pilot programs throughout Latin America and Africa. Three years later, Kimberly-Clark made a second $2.6 million four-year pledge.
Most recently, Kimberly-Clark has joined UNICEF in an initiative for children orphaned and made vulnerable by AIDS in China.
