J. Stephen Eaton
J. Stephen Eaton currently oversees private equity investments for his family and continues as an active board member of various private companies. He has been a successful P.E. investor over the past 23 years with a focus on healthcare services and technology. Steve was a co-founder and Managing Director of EDG Partners where he helped approve investments as well as work post-investment to ensure portfolio companies maximized their potential. Prior to 2001 he was an entrepreneur and CEO, leading the company he founded through a successful public offering before its eventual sale to a private equity firm.
Steve has wide experience as a trustee of various not-for-profit and philanthropic organizations. He served as Chair of Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta and led its merger with Emory Healthcare where he subsequently served as a trustee. He also served as a trustee of Open Hand Atlanta and Mercy Care in Atlanta. Steve has been a longtime trustee of Greater Atlanta Christian School as well as Chair of the GAC Foundation.
Steve served on the UNICEF USA Southeast Board from 2010 - 2021, also serving as its Chair for a two-year term. From 2018 - 2021 he served as a member of the board of Impact Fund for Children (IF4C). He was privileged during these years to participate in field visits to Jordan, Nepal and UNICEF’s distribution center in Copenhagen.
