Aanya
A senior from Troy, Michigan, Aanya is most passionate about global health and advocacy. As a UNICEF Youth Representative last year, Aanya advocated for increased legislation surrounding child marriage in Michigan, lobbied at congressional offices, and spread awareness about healthcare disparities and climate change. She believes that all young people are agents of change and is excited to advance the child rights agenda. On the National Youth Council, she strives to inspire action and amplify youth voices across the U.S. Outside of UNICEF, Aanya serves as State President of the student-led health organization HOSA and on the state committee of Special Olympics. In 2022, she was one of the youngest members selected to join the 5th cohort of the United Nations Global Youth Solutions Program and gained insight into the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Aanya also loves traveling and exploring local coffee shops!
