Celebrating the Passage of H.R. 2615
UNICEF USA applauds the U.S. House of Representatives for showing bipartisan unity today in passing H.R. 2615 to support the people of Central America and strengthen U.S. national security by addressing the root causes of migration from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.
UNICEF USA applauds the U.S. House of Representatives for showing bipartisan unity today in passing by voice vote H.R. 2615, the United States-Northern Triangle Enhanced Engagement Act. This legislation will support the people of Central America and strengthen United States national security by addressing the root causes of migration from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

We appreciate the leadership of Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY) and Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) for introducing this measure and moving it quickly through the House legislative process.
In order to become law, this measure must be approved by the U.S. Senate, and UNICEF USA calls on Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Jim Risch (R-ID) and Ranking Member Bob Menendez (D-NJ) to quickly move on this important legislation. Stay tuned for our next advocacy action on this important legislation when it gets to the Senate!
