A Houston school recognized for support of Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF
Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF began 68 years ago as a way to help kids still affected by World War II. Since then, millions of children across the United States have gone door to door on Halloween with UNICEF collection boxes, calling out, "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF!" The annual tradition of Kids Helping Kids® — involving donations big and small — has helped to raise nearly $177 million since 1950.
During the month of October, Lycee International de Houston (LIH) participated in the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF program and helped raise funds for vulnerable children around the world. On Friday, November 9th, 2018, LIH hosted students and their families at an end-of-season Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF event at their school. At the event, families gathered to learn how UNICEF protects the world’s most disadvantaged children in four areas: nutrition; education; water, sanitation, and hygiene; and health and how their contribution via the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF program helps children affected by these global issues.
LIH support for UNICEF USA extends beyond the Trick-or-Treat program. Since June of 2018 they have hosted other creative events and fundraisers. They have helped UNICEF USA's goal to empower youth in the United States with the resources and skills to be effective global citizens - thinking globally and acting locally for the world's most vulnerable children. LIH has definitely taken advantage of this opportunity and they are empowered to make a significant difference in the world.
