Thursday video : safe water all the way

Water, water, everywhere. It's on our minds, in the news, on our blog. It's beneath the ground, in the soil and in aquifers and it's frozen in ice sheets and glaciers. Water scarcity is a concern we address during World Water Week, but so too is water quality.

This week's Thursday video raises the concern about unsafe water. A recent UNICEF report finds that some 87 percent of the world's population is now served by some form of improved water source that protects against contamination. But that doesn't always guarantee a healthy supply. The Safe Drinking Water Project aims to achieve health gains not just at the tap, but at the point of consumption.
