UNICEF Is On the Ground in Yemen, Helping Children Survive
Millions in Yemen spent yet another Ramadan praying for peace and struggling for survival. UNICEF is on the ground helping.
Yemen's brutal civil war has driven the country to the brink of collapse, leaving more than 24 million people — some 80 percent of the population — in need of urgent humanitarian assistance, including more than 12 million children.
How will UNICEF help children in Yemen in 2019?
UNICEF is on the ground in Yemen, providing lifesaving support and services for children, to help them cope with the trauma of war and to help them resume their childhoods. In 2019, UNICEF will work with partners to:
Treat 321,750 children under age 5 for severe acute malnutrition
Vaccinate 924,000 children against measles
Provide 7 million people with clean, safe drinking water
Support quality education for 817,000 children
And more
UNICEF leads the way to provide water, nutrition, education, health care, protection and more to children and families in Yemen. In 2019, UNICEF will need $592 million to fund what has become the largest humanitarian operation in the world. You can help.
