VIDEO: UNICEF Installs Septic Tanks to Protect Children in Gaza
UNICEF is supporting urgently needed sanitation projects to prevent the spread of disease in the Gaza Strip.
The destruction of water and sanitation infrastructure during nine months of bombardment in the Gaza Strip has created a health crisis for Palestinian children and their families.
As part of its ongoing emergency response, UNICEF is supporting the restoration of six sewage pumping plants in Khan Younis and the installation of four septic tanks at Nasser Hospital. Reducing the risk of sewage overflow will prevent the spread of disease.
