Elmar is from Los Angeles, California, and is currently studying Political Science at California State University Los Angeles. He became involved with UNICEF USA because he is passionate about making a difference in the world. The impact and improvements UNICEF achieves globally are truly inspiring and align with his desire to contribute to meaningful change. His firm belief and goal are to advocate for policies and solutions that uplift and empower everyone, especially voices that are frequently overlooked and underrepresented. He wants to ignite a fire under youth because they are the changemakers who can propel us to greater heights. By believing that small actions can lead to big actions and big actions can drive significant change, he aims to inspire young people to realize their potential to change the world. Outside of UNICEF USA, he is actively engaged with organizations like Voters of Tomorrow, where he serves as a Special Projects Member in this youth-led civic effort. He has also volunteered with March for Our Lives, inspiring me to continue advocating for change and justice. Additionally, he has been a LEAD California Fellow for the Pat Brown Institute, which has further fueled his commitment to civic engagement and leadership. In his free time, he enjoys playing and listening to music, reading, and hiking, which keeps him balanced and motivated in his initiatives.
