Kugu

Kugu is from Dallas, Texas. She enjoys supporting children’s rights, volunteering, and taking part in civil services projects. Kugu is passionate about amplifying youth’s voices and strives for societies where youth are empowered and encouraged to achieve their fullest potential as global citizens. She has been the founder and president of the her UNICEF Club for three years and has served UNICEF USA as a National Advocate during Advocacy Day. With her UNICEF Club, she has organized fundraisers for Children in Ukraine, water walks for girls in Nigeria, a school-wide UNICEF community-building event, children’s rights movie screenings, and a write-a-card fundraiser. Kugu is a Congressional Award Gold Medal and STEM STAR recipient as well as a member of the European Union Youth Forum. She is the winner of the European Parliament’s 2022 European Union Year of the Youth Writing Contest and has taken part in volunteering projects for youth in Belgium, Germany, and Israel. With a strong foundation of experience, skills, and a compassionate heart, Kugu is excited to contribute to UNICEF’s mission and empower children and youth worldwide
