Statement from UNICEF USA President and CEO Michael J. Nyenhuis on the Biden Administration’s $4 billion in contributions to COVAX

NEW YORK (February 19, 2021) – “UNICEF USA applauds $4 billion in contributions to the COVAX Facility, the vaccines arm of the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator, from the Biden Administration and Congress. This will help speed equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines globally, including to low- and middle-income countries that need this support. UNICEF is playing a central role in this historic and all-hands-on-deck effort, which requires support from governments, the private sector and philanthropists. We invite all parties to join this critical work to end the pandemic and improve the conditions for, and the rights of, children everywhere.”
