NEW YORK, NY (October 16, 2017) – UNICEF USA and Fresh Digital Group (FRSH) today launched a new Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Alexa skill for Amazon Echo devices to encourage kids and families to participate in the campaign. The skill offers fun and educational games to engage new audiences in the longstanding Halloween tradition of Kids Helping Kids® by collecting lifesaving donations to support UNICEF’s work to put children first.

The new Alexa Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF skill integrates advanced technology to bring entertainment to kids and families throughout the remainder of October, while encouraging them to make Halloween about more than just candy. The skill’s Daily Treats” function aligns with the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF calendar, which families can visit to unlock stories, quizzes, how-to videos, giveaways and more. Kids and families can learn “Fun Facts” about Halloween and set the mood with “Spooky Sounds.” They can also play a Halloween-themed "Simon Says" game called “Ghosty Says.”

When kids participate in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, they learn about global issues and feel empowered to make a difference for their peers around the world. For parents, it’s a time-tested tool to teach kids the value of helping others and shape the next generation of global citizens. Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is one of the longest-running youth engagement initiatives in America and has raised nearly $177 million dollars to support UNICEF’s lifesaving work for children around the world. This year, funds raised through the campaign will support children affected by recent disasters.

“We are thrilled to partner with UNICEF USA to develop another Alexa skill. Using voice technology, we have extended the American family tradition of Trick or Treating for UNICEF to a new and relevant space,” said Doug Robinson, CEO & Founder of FRSH.

“UNICEF USA is excited to launch a second Alexa skill with FRSH to bring the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF experience to homes across the nation. This Halloween season, kids and families can engage in the original Kids Helping Kids® campaign in a fresh and exciting way,” said Jennifer Roberti, SVP of Marketing & Communications at UNICEF USA.

The Alexa Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF skill is available to download on the FRSH or new skills page on Amazon, along with 130+ exciting FRSH skills.
