NEW YORK (January 21, 2021) – UNICEF USA applauds the Biden Administration’s day-one immigration-related efforts. The suspension of new enrollments in the Migrant Protection Protocols program, reinforcement of DACA protections, declaration of a deportation moratorium, and other changes will help preserve family unity, prevent traumatic deportation of children and parents, and help ensure children have access to the support they require. We look forward to working with the Administration and Congress on legislative and regulatory changes that will protect migrant and refugee children.
