Advocacy Spotlight: Alexandra Grossi
This Advocacy Spotlight focuses on Alexandra Grossi, an extremely active UNICEF USA supporter and CAT member in Los Angeles.
Alexandra Grossi has been a proud and accomplished supporter of UNICEF USA, as well as a committed advocate and leader for the Los Angeles Congressional Action Team (CAT).
Alexandra was one of the founding members of the Los Angeles CAT at its inception in April of 2016, and she has been fighting for UNICEF USA’s mission ever since. While Alexandra co-leads the extremely active LA CAT, she is also an actor and social justice filmmaker. Her willingness to speak out has been instrumental in setting up meetings with Members of Congress in her home state of California.
Her fondest memory since joining UNICEF was attending Advocacy Day in April of 2017, where she met with Representative Karen Bass (D-CA-37) and staffer Janice Bashford. They had an extremely productive conversation discussing UNICEF’s supply chains’ ability to reach millions of children in need. Recently, Alexandra met with Representative Bass again, and further discussed advocacy efforts in Congress to support and advance UNICEF’s work for children.
The LA CAT followed that meeting by securing yet another face-to-face meeting: this time with Representative Adam Schiff’s (D-CA-28) District Director, Ann Peifer. The LA CAT had an extremely fruitful conversation about vulnerable children across the world, and solidified a strong, long-term relationship with Representative Schiff’s office.
She focuses her efforts on being a voice for the voiceless, educating herself and others about global issues, and using her experiences to make a difference for others.

Alexandra’s passion and drive for her work as the LA CAT Co-Leader comes from her knowledge that UNICEF fights for issues that matter most to her: children’s rights, trafficking, education, WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene), and matters relating to refugees and immigrants. She focuses her efforts on being a voice for the voiceless, educating herself and others about global issues, and using her experiences to make a difference for others.
In the past year and a half, Alexandra has been an invaluable member of the LA CAT, and an amazing advocate for UNICEF USA. Her relentless work to fight for children worldwide and desire to continue doing so, deserves a round of applause.
