Atlanta Youth Board
Created in 2014, the Atlanta Youth Board serves as a community UNICEF club made up of middle school and high school students who are passionate about UNICEF’s work and want to spread awareness within their community. Originally a club focused on education it has since evolved under the leadership of LaDarrien Gillette, Atlanta Community Engagement Fellow. The Youth Board now works to educate, advocate, and fundraise on behalf of UNICEF.
The members take action by starting UNICEF clubs in their schools, organizing community fundraisers, and writing letters to their representatives in support of children’s right. In addition to working within their own communities, the Youth Board also volunteers at the Atlanta Gala in which they talk to attendees about UNICEF’s life-saving Inspired Gifts.
HOW TO HELP
There are many ways to make a difference
War, famine, poverty, natural disasters — threats to the world's children keep coming. But UNICEF won't stop working to keep children healthy and safe.
UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories — more places than any other children's organization. UNICEF has the world's largest humanitarian warehouse and, when disaster strikes, can get supplies almost anywhere within 72 hours. Constantly innovating, always advocating for a better world for children, UNICEF works to ensure that every child can grow up healthy, educated, protected and respected.
