Lund International supports UNICEF and the victims of Cyclone Idai
Following the recent catastrophic damage caused by Cyclone Idai on Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi, Lund International, an automotive accessories supplier, stepped in to help. Lund employee Godfrey, who is originally from Zimbabwe and who had seen UNICEF’s response to Cyclone Idai at home firsthand, rallied his coworkers to raise money and support UNICEF's response efforts. The employees all contributed donations, and the company generously matched.
UNICEF’s response has been focused on providing access to clean water, treating and preventing cholera outbreaks, and re-establishing primary healthcare services to avert future occurrences of diseases such as measles and malnutrition. Lund International’s gift represents a significant contribution in the fight to provide humanitarian assistance for the millions of people left struggling in the wake of the most destructive natural disaster to hit southern Africa in almost 20 years.
